Erasmus+ Programme
Incoming Students

International students from our partner schools within the scope of the Erasmus+ Programme who wish to take part in Erasmus+ exchange studies at DAMU should be nominated by their home school, i.e. the Erasmus Coordinator of their home university should send the nomination by email to the International Office of DAMU.

The nominated students are required to send their application forms (the standard Erasmus Student Application form can be used) indicating their field of study together with their short CV, motivation letter and certificate confirming the level of their knowledge of English (B2 is recommended), students of Stage Design also their portfolio (accepted formats: cd, A4 photos or pdf) to the International Office of DAMU within the application deadline. Documents sent by email are acceptable, please do not send files via hyperlinks, drop boxes, wetransfer etc.

Please note that DAMU reserves the right to make the final choice of Erasmus students, admission is not granted automatically.

Application and deadlines

Application deadline for studies in the winter term 2023/2024 (beginning October to mid-February): 15 May 2023

Application deadline for studies in the summer term 2023/2024 (mid-February to the end of June): 31 October 2023

Courses in English for Erasmus students - general information 

Students get always enrolled in and assigned to one of DAMU Departments, depending on their specialisation or focus. A tutor from the respective department prepares an Erasmus Project for them, students receive 12 credits for the project and its completion is compulsory.

In addition to the project, students attend courses at the Department, again according to their specialisation or focus. These courses are not included in the basic schedule for all Erasmus students.

Additionally, students can (but are not required to) attend courses included in the basic Erasmus schedule for all Erasmus students.

The basic Winter Semester schedule:

Teaching period: beginning of October – Christmas
Exam period: beginning of January – mid-February

Highlights of Czech Theatre: 2 credits
Philosophical Propaedeutic
s: 2 credits
Authorial Reading: 2 credits

Acrobatics: 1 credit
Training: 1 credit
Czech language: 1 credit
Puppet Animation: 2 credits
Various sports and fitness classes (swimming, power yoga, tap dance, tai chi, etc.): 1 credit each

The basic Summer Semester schedule:

Teaching period: mid-February – mid-May
Exam period: mid-May – end of June

Highlights of Czech Theatre: 2 credits

Acrobatics: 1 credit
Training: 1 credit
Czech language: 2 credits

Specific discipline courses:

Students attend classes not included in the basic Erasmus schedule at the respective DAMU Departments according to their admission.

Due to the limited capacity of the courses an approval from the respective course teacher is required prior to the registration for the course.

Students are required to complete all the assigned projects before their departure. It is the tutor, not the student, who determines that the project has been completed. Please keep this in mind when planning your departure date.
