The Dean of DAMU announces a call for applications for support for student projects in the DAMU Internal Competition for 2026.

What can be supported within the call:

Support can be provided for the creation of new creative projects by students, carried out beyond the scope of their study obligations. Support can also be provided for supplementary, expanding, or continuing activities of ongoing projects carried out within or beyond the scope of students' study obligations, such as repeat performances at DAMU or elsewhere, performances at domestic or international festivals, supplementing performances with educational or lecture programs, residency/research stays for members of the creative team for the purpose of preparing a production, etc. Only projects with creative output corresponding to the nature of the study program of the principal investigator or project team will be supported. It is possible to finance projects that also receive support from another AMU source (SGS, Interfaculty Competition).

Eligible costs:

Funding may be requested for materials, relevant services related to the implementation of the project, travel expenses, scholarships and salaries, which may only be used to remunerate the project's educational supervisors (this item is also mandatory).

Who can apply for support:

The principal investigator may be a student enrolled in an accredited bachelor's, master's, or doctoral program at DAMU. Students applying for support must maintain their student status throughout the entire duration of the project (they may not terminate or interrupt their studies).

The project guarantor is not the project investigator or leader, nor is he/she responsible for submitting the final project report. The project guarantor must be an employee of the faculty where the investigator is studying.

Method and deadline for submitting applications:

Applications must be submitted using the standard form. Applications may only be submitted electronically to the following email address: veronika.stojanova@damu.cz.

Financial framework and decision on support:

Financial support for projects is non-entitlement; the dean of DAMU decides on the provision of funds and their amount based on a proposal from an evaluation committee composed of the dean, vice-deans, representatives of the DAMU Student Chamber, the DAMU PR manager, and other invited persons, as appropriate.

The maximum amount of financial support provided per project is CZK 50,000.

A total of CZK 800,000 is available for the competition.

Evaluation criteria:

The committee will evaluate the degree to which individual criteria are met (not every project necessarily relates to all of the criteria listed):

  • creative quality of the project proposal

  • adequacy of the budget

  • opinion of the project leader

  • production readiness and thoroughness of the project, including staffing

Additional conditions:

  • Projects must include a student in the position of producer

  • The project manager of approved projects is required to send promotional materials for the event to the DAMU website 14 days prior to the event to the following address: eliska.drbohlavova@damu.cz

  • The project leader is required to invite the faculty management, relevant departments, and the project guarantor to the presentation/launch of the project. The guest list can be consulted with the DAMU PR manager.

  • Methodological support for project leaders is provided by project manager Bc. Veronika Stojanova.

  • Changes in project outputs, implementation schedules, and significant changes in wage costs and scholarship costs (reductions/increases of more than 20% of the total amount allocated to the project) are approved by the Vice-Dean for Academic Affairs and Quality.
