DECREE ON THE REPRESENTATION AND OPERATION OF DAMU DURING THE SUMMER HOLIDAYS (1. 7. - 31. 8. 2024)

The list of holidays of DAMU employees is available at the Dean's Secretariat.

Michal Somoš or Marek Bečka will be responsible for representing the Dean of the Faculty in urgent matters during the Dean's leave according to the schedule on the Dean's Office notice board.

In case of absence of the Secretary of the Faculty, the following will be in charge:

  • in urgent economic matters, Ms Běla Chocová (in her absence, Ms Zdeňka Pekárková)
  • in urgent operational matters of the Faculty, including permission to enter the building, the Head of Technical Administration, Mr Antonín Loský (in his absence in operational matters, Mr Svatopluk Skála, in case of permission to enter, Ms Ilona Legová)

Faculty operations:

  • The faculty is accessible only on working days from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. for teachers and administration, from 4:00 p.m. for cleaning, from 6:00 a.m. for maintenance and at any time for the head of technical administration (Mon - Sun 24 hours) for operational cooperation and solving unexpected situations with external entities (contractors, designers, TDI); 
  • students are allowed access to the study department, PC classrooms and departmental secretariats only during the established opening hours (see below); students are allowed access to classrooms and studios only in exceptional and justified cases, after consultation with the Faculty Secretary and on the basis of an approved permit for access to the Faculty building outside the opening hours (forms HERE)  
  • Administration - working hours remain unchanged, office hours are limited to 9-14. 
  • Academic Office - July 1 - July 12, 2024 and August 19-August 30, 2024 office hours are set for Monday-Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Telephone arrangements are recommended before visiting in person; Academic Office is closed from July 15-August 16, 2024;
  • Computer Room - open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., possible closure for operational reasons will be addressed by ordinance; computers in the hallways: in the Řetězová tract (3rd floor near KATaP) will be removed due to construction work in the Karlova tract (4th floor by the KS) they will remain in operation and available
  • the Dean's Secretariat: coverage of the Secretariat is ensured throughout the summer holidays, mail will be handled only on Tuesdays and Thursdays between Monday 8 July 2024 and Friday 23 August 2024 DAMU (Karlova) gatehouse - the regime remains unchanged, the operation remains continuous (24 hours/7 days)
  • ds DISK - due to the planned installation of a lift and reconstruction of the upper sphere, the operation of ds DISK is limited until 16 August. Hours of operation are from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. according to the ds DISK staff schedule on the faculty website. The ds DISK office staff will not be on site in person at all times from 7/1 - 8/16. Therefore, in-person appointments must be arranged in advance by phone or email (schedule of services and contact persons HERE). Beginning 8/19/2024, ds DISK will follow the daily ferman.
  • PLATO - during the summer by phone only: Zdeněk Butula (+420 739 135 095) or Josef Maděra (+420 732 183 306)
  • Tržiště building 20 - access 7-9 p.m. (Hartig Palace porterage 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m. weekdays, otherwise by permission of the Bursar), rooms T107, T108 and T109 will be undergoing construction and interior refurbishment and will therefore be closed until the end of September
  • Karlova tract K106 - space for moving in inventory from K104. From 26.6.to 6.9.
  • Světlík Karlova - installation of pigeon nets
  • Middle tract - S303 (flooring, painting, LED lighting) S306 (LED lighting and also space for moving inventory from S303, S305 (installation of shading technology, LED lighting), S304 (installation of LED lighting). From 26.6. to 23.8.m S046 - Replacement of the door to the DISK workshops with a fire door, S404 - renewal of AC, K440 and K441 - renewal and addition of new AC, ZS - renewal of VZA and AC
  • Yard behind DISK workshops - installation of pigeon netting
  • Řetězová tract  - renovation, repairs, isntallation - R501 (Floor, installation of new doors, wall repairs + painting, shading equipment, R601 - space for moving inventory from R501, R314 (floor, painting, LED lighting, shading equipment, furniture), R313 - space for moving in inventory from R314, R217 - dismantling of skylight and filling the opening with a fixed structure, R317 - renovation of the outdoor terrace floor composition; courtyard behind the KALD hall cloakrooms - installation of pigeon nets, installation of lift R081, D057a, D056a, D056c, R214b, R106, R222b, R206, R320b, R306, R422 + renovation of terrace R306 + new data connection in D056c, R106, R105, R204, R205, R206

Due to construction and renovation work, the Chainway tract will be closed from July 1 to September 15, 2024. Noise and demolition work will take place by August 15. The installation of the elevator is scheduled to be completed without impacting school operations by October 31. The location of the temporary dislocation of the secretariats of KALD, KATaP and KP will be specified by the secretaries of the departments. The Secretariats of the concerned Departments and DISC will be informed of any changes in the schedule of work.

  • Big Dance Hall - for students and teachers without restrictions

During the renovation of specific areas, these will be closed - it is necessary to move with caution and utmost attention in the vicinity of these areas during July and August.

A detailed schedule of the work, which will be refined over the summer, will be provided to individual departments by Facilities Engineering.

DAMU Library (summer operation):

  • July: open Mondays 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
  • August: open Mondays and Wednesdays, always 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
  • September: open Monday-Thursday, always 10 a.m.-2 p.m., closed Fridays

Regular library hours will begin on Tuesday, October 1, 2024.

Normal faculty operations will resume on 1 September 2024 (with the exception of the DAMU Library and the Řetězová tract).
