ANNOUCEMENT OF CREATIVE AND SOCIAL SCHOLARSHIPS

In line with the Scholarship Regulations of the Academy of Performing Arts, the Dean of the Theatre Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts announces the start of accepting applications for the following scholarships.

1. FACULTY SOCIAL SCHOLARSHIP FOR STUDENTS IN AN ONEROUS SOCIAL SITUATION

The faculty social scholarships are awarded to students in particular in cases where their onerous social situation prevents them from fulfilling their study obligations successfully and they have not entered such a situation through their fault. The application must be accompanied by documents confirming the student’s eligibility (e.g. family income documents, child's birth certificate, certificate of social hardship from the Social Welfare Authority, siblings' study certificates, health certificates, certificates from the Labour Office, contract of lease, etc.). Recipients of state social scholarships may also apply. The application must include itemization of income, expenses and the social economic situation in which the student finds himself/herself. The Study Department will secure an opinion from the relevant Department Head. When considering applications, the Scholarship Committee will take into account in particular:

  • the social situation of the student;
  • the achieved academic and creative results;
  • the current academic status (suspension of studies, waiting for the state final exam, etc.);
  • scholarships awarded in the past; and
  • past fees assessed for study at the Academy of Performing Arts.

2. STATE SOCIAL SCHOLARSHIP

Students whose parents are entitled to an allowance for a child and whose family income does not exceed 1.5 times the minimum subsistence level can apply for a state social scholarship. They shall prove this fact by submitting a "Notice for the purpose of awarding the scholarship" issued by the Labour Office.

3. CREATIVE SCHOLARSHIP FOR EXCELLENT ARTISTIC, RESEARCH, DEVELOPMENT OR INNOVATION RESULTS

The scholarship is awarded for excellent artistic, scientific, development, research and innovation results. The proposal for the award of a creative scholarship is submitted by the student, who may nominate himself/herself or another student, or by the Department Head. The proposal must be accompanied by documents confirming the student’s eligibility (e.g. a list of participation in or awards from festivals, a list of media coverage, a list of extra-curricular activities), or the proposal must contain sufficient and detailed description or reasons, with a specific indication of what constitutes the excellent creative result for which the scholarship is to be awarded. If the Department Head submits more than one proposal (i.e. a proposal to award a scholarship to more than one student), it is mandatory that each proposal is prioritised by the Department Head (indicate 1 - 3, where 1 is the highest priority).
