The programme focuses on the dramatic properties of space and the shaping of a dramatic character. Stage design participates in creating the conception and visual form of a dramatic work. The conception of the stage design curriculum respects the dramatic point of departure of stage design and its team character, as well as contemporary crossover tendencies in the field.
The goal of the programme is for students to master the requirements of stage design work in all of its applications and modifications with emphasis on the realisation.
A graduate of the Bachelor`s programme in stage design is a versatilely educated stage designer with extensive knowledge mainly in the areas of theatre, literature and film. He/she has mastered the technical and technological requirements of stage design, as well as the planning, lighting and acoustics of the stage space. He/she is the author of lighting designs, the realiser of stage design projects, and has mastered the basics of costume design and issues of realising costume projects for all forms of theatre, film and television.
He/she is a partner to the realiser or choreographer in creating a dramatic work and in its realisation.
A completed secondary education, a collection of the candidate`s own work, artistic and craft aptitudes, orientation in the history of culture, ability to express space through drawing, successful completion of a three-round talent examination.
