How can theatrical tools and performances be applied in non-theatrical contexts, especially in the context of socially-engaged projects? Nika Parkhomovskaia will talk about the so-called "applied theatre" in general, but also specifically about her experiences with these formats and with different groups.
"The terms «applied drama», «socially engaged art» and «inclusive theatre» are so common nowadays that we don’t even question them. But what do they mean in reality and what exactly do they describe? I want to tell more about so called «theatre for social changes», observe its different practices both worldwide and in Russia, and concentrate on my own experience in that field. We will talk about theatre made together with migrants, homeless, prisoners, people with mental and physical disabilities, discover its professional tools and discuss how it changes our society."
The lecture with projections will take place in English in room R407. Due to the limited capacity of the classroom, please notify Michaela Raisová (michaela.raisova@damu.cz) in advance.
The lecture can also be watched online at this link.
