This international, practically oriented symposium explores the phenomenon of "inner speech" within the process of instant composition and dance improvisation and their pedagogy. The event is designed as a research situation for sharing experiences across various fields—ranging from somatic practice and choreography to phenomenology, cultural psychology, and pedagogy.

Public Program:

  • Performances: The performative lecture Along the Lines by Bettina Neuhaus and Eva Karczag, and the production Sometime Now (produced by CreWcollective), will take place at Žižkostel and are open to the general public.
  • Book Launch: On Wednesday, June 24 at 7:00 PM, there will be a launch for doc. Jiří Lössl’s publication Výchova vědomým pohybem (Education through Conscious Movement, NAMU) at Žižkostel.

Participation and Context: The symposium is open to students, educators, and the professional public, creating a space where academic research and artistic practice intersect. The project loosely follows the publication Secretly Alive: embodied perspectives on dance improvisation (Rais, Eliášová, Le Quesne: NAMU, 2024).
