In less than two weeks the ZLOMVAZ festival of theatre schools is starting. This year it is subtitled WELLNESS, has a complete programme and the pre-sale is in full swing. During the four days, five theatre schools from the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland will present themselves on the stage of the DISK Theatre in Prague. In addition to the theatre, it will offer a packed musical programme, debates and workshops. The festival, organised by the Production Department of the Theatre Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts, is taking place from 8 to 11 June.
On Wednesday, 8 June at 10:30 a.m., the opening ceremony of the festival will take place, where, among other things, you will be able to taste lovingly baked desserts directly from the festival ambassador, actress Denisa Barešová, who will also take part in a canister therapy workshop from the Helppes organisation.
"Taking care of myself and my mental health has unfortunately not always been a given for me. Today the situation is different and I have been actively involved in this topic for several years. However, circumstances led me to do so when there was no longer any choice, and this is not an ideal situation. As an ambassador for this year's festival, I want to help raise the profile of this topic and encourage others," says festival ambassador Denisa Barešová
Krakow's Akademia Sztuk Teatralnych im. Stanislaw Wyspiański will be represented in the programme by the production Ojcowie, which can be described as one of the highlights of the theatre festival. ZLOMVAZ will also welcome this year's drama graduates from the JAMU in Brno, who will present the premiere of their graduation production People Without Qualities.
Visitors will be able to take part in workshops such as relaxation and calm techniques led by Mira Babiaková, or modern self-defence by Jasmina and Pavel Houdek. Also this year there will be the traditional interschool football tournament, which will take place on Friday, June 10 at Sokol Prague Královské Vinohrady.
The music programme will kick off with an opening party on the premises of the Prague DAMU on Wednesday 8 June. During the festival, Kvietah, 9kg of weight gain, or Treska jednoskvrnná will dance at the Theatre Faculty. The closing party of the ZLOMVAZ festival will take place on the Altenburg ship in Holešovice. Performers such as Monika Načeva or Gondor Flames LABEL will perform. The Altenburg will also be filled with slammers led by Anatol Svahilc, a former student of the production department that organizes the ZLOMVAZ festival.
