Tuition

The PSTS offers a discount for early registration based on the date we receive your course deposit. There is also a discount for taking two courses.

Any one course:

The above fees include coursework and materials. Fees do not include room & board in Prague, extracurricular activities (e.g., theatre tickets). Please see below for those costs.

Deposit

One course: 2,600Kč (about 100 Euros) - Nonrefundable!

Two courses: 5,200Kč (about 200 Euros) - Nonrefundable!

All fees are payable in Czech Crowns (CZK). Information on how to make the payment will be sent to you by email.

Refunds
We can offer a refund for the course, minus the nonrefundable deposit, if you decide to withdraw from a course before it starts.

Unfortunately, once a course has started we are unable to offer any refunds.

In case the unlikely case that a course must be cancelled, students will be offered priority placement in another course or their deposit will be returned within 30 days.

Payment Deadline

The deadline for receipt of full payment for the course is May 11th, 2012. Information on how to make the payment will be mailed to you by email.

Important! Please note!

Before students make final travel arrangements (purchase plane tickets, pay for housing, etc.), students should wait until confirmation from DAMU that their course will take place! Once the minimum class sized has been reached, students will be informed, latest by May 1st, 2012. In case the unlikely case that a course must be cancelled, students will be offered priority placement in another course or their deposit will be returned within 30 days.

Accommodation

Students must arrange for their housing independently. DAMU will facilitate the process by recommending affordable private accommodation (shared apartments, low-cost hotels).

Last year’s accommodation costs ranged from 250Kč per person per night (shared accommodation).

Students are strongly encouraged to arrange housing immediately upon confirmation that their course will take place.

Other costs

Performances

Tickets prices can range from 50Kč (students) – 500Kč, depending on the venue.

Food

The average cost for an average meal in an average restaurant can range between 100Kč-200Kč.

Many local grocery shops as well as large chain supermarkets can be easily accessed in the city center. Cooking facilities may be available at recommended accommodation.

Financial Aid

Financial aid in the form of a reduced tuition fee may be awarded to students who demonstrate exceptional promise and financial need, particularly to those students from developing countries. Students are advised that there is no entitlement to financial aid in any case, nor can DAMU assure any or all applications for financial aid will be met. To apply for financial assistance after you have been accepted, please contact the PSTS director.

Insurance

Students must make their own arrangements for accident and health insurance. DAMU cannot accept any liability for any student’s safety, health or welfare. Proof of insurance will be required with payment.
